International Particle Therapy Inc.
About IPT
International Particle Therapy Inc. (IPT), in Illinois, USA, is a high-tech medical company led by Dr. Gong Ping (G. P.) Yeh. According to the US Department of Energy, an accelerator can shrink a tumor, produce cleaner energy and reduce nuclear waste. The company focuses on the research, development and manufacturing of linear accelerator systems for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). Dedicated to R&D and clinical applications, IPT offers a complete solution for BNCT medical centers, and provides a promising targeted neutron therapy to patients with malignant tumors.
Dr. Gong Ping Yeh
IPT Chief Scientific Advisor
Dr. Yeh worked as a physicist at the US Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for 30 years. He contributed to the discovery of the top quark, large scale computing using Linux, creating Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, and creating Particle Therapy Centers. Dr. Yeh led IPT's top-of-the-line research and medical team to develop an extraordinarily accurate, precise, and targeted radiation cancer therapy that utilizes the cutting edge technology of the accelerator for BNCT. G P Yeh Foundation is dedicated to development of health, energy, environment, education, and economy to help the world and benefit all people.
Benefits of BNCT
The boron-10 therapy selectively targets tumor cells. After irradiated with a neutron beam of energy, tumor cells will be targeted with minimal damage to healthy tissue.
A high quality neutron source
IPT's world-class linear accelerator generates 2-10 times as many neutron sources as a conventional reactor, providing stable and safe energy.
A breakthrough in size
IPT's compact linear accelerator is a breakthrough in size, significantly reducing the space required for the BNCT medical center.
Cancer Types Treated by BNCT
BNCT is ideal for patients who are unfit for surgery, conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy due to their old age, symptom complications or weak physical conditions.
